Ruining Our Planet

Planet_alert A new article in Wired Magazine states that, "Worldwide economic growth has accelerated the level of greenhouse gas emissions to a dangerous threshold scientists had not expected for another decade, according to a leading Australian climate change expert."

Tim Flannery, a leading Australian climate change expert, says "an upcoming report by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will contain new data showing that the level of climate-changing gases in the atmosphere has already reached critical levels" (see article below).

The articles goes on to say that each person in Germany produces about 11 tons of carbon dioxide per year, whereas the U.S. outputs about 20 tons per person. A new recommended goal that is being discussed is that each person only output about 2 tons per year. This would require drastic lifestyle changes for people living in developed countries.

In light of these shocking revelations, how should we live today?

Is it too late to reverse the damage?

How should Seventh-day Adventist Christians respond to this news?
